Here at skatefurther we love hearing of different people skating further than they have before. Jack, ably assisted by his mum Jo, recently supported the US Ultra skate here in the UK by skating 50 miles and raising money for a worthwhile cause. He also wrote a litte bit about the day.

In the autumn it’s all about the weather, whether to use a pushing deck or pumper that is!!
On the 30th of October I did a 50 mile skate for the National Autistic Society for the Paved Wave Ultraskate. It was wet so we decided to push. Then it dried out and we changed boards. On the day I personally preferred the Mermaid because it had good wheels and quite a lot of flex to cushion the bumpiness.
When we came to choosing the pushing decks I was in a bit of a pickle. I didn’t have any pushing decks to choose from. The ones my Mum and Dad had weren’t too low-down so we asked around and Dangerous Decks came to help with the DD pusher. The board was very nice with its drop down drop-through-ness.
Charity skating is a privilege because you feel good about it because you’re doing one of your favourite things ie: skateboarding and because you’re doing something for other people. I got about £200 for NAS.
I had top encouragement from my Mum, Dad and Paved Wave, cheers guys!!

Don’t know if thisis official or not, but we have got the new graphics for the Rayne Demonseed Deelite! The Demonseed is fast becoming the standard for pushing distance. Strength, comfort and ability to be used for a variety of disciplines make it an awesome distance deck. Demonseeds have been used in trips across New Zealand, China the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and South America.
The Deelite version of the Demonseed is half the weight whilst still retaining all the things we love about it. The new graphics show a burning city. We like them. Expect more pics in the forum thread when the first one hits the UK this afternoon!!

STOP PRESS!! Heres a wee pic of the first one in the UK. Thanks to forum member Winnersh.

Direct from the Skatefurther forum, Laura Hatwell’s review of the Rayne Demonseed Deelite. Laura recently returned from her epic trip across Orkney, Sheltand and the Highlands of Scotland; ‘Perimeter:North Sea Skate‘ .She spent some time to sit down and give us her views of the Rayne Deemonseed Deelite. Enjoy.
Rayne’s Demonseed deck has been a popular shape with distance and downhill skaters worldwide for some time now. The blend of drop down, drop thru, and concave and stability seems to be a winner on numerous trips, at events and for good old-fashioned commuting too. Coupled with the fact that by utilising some neatly-fashioned Khiro rails and the right trucks you can drop the thing by up to a half inch, you’re looking at a seriously amazing beast.
But that’s just it…it’s a beast. A heavy one at that. I’m a tiny rider, 5 foot 2 inches and 130lbs at best. I’d been riding around on a regular Demonseed for nearly a year trying to keep up with the big boys but, inevitably, failing. Fortunately for me, I was able to rectify the situation this summer, when a Demonseed Deelite, a present for doing some work on a certain Peruvian skate trip website, dropped into my life, express delivery from Vancouver, Canada.
